Customers in Delhi-NCR will be able to book all-electric cab rides using Blu Smart Electric Cab Service app, available for download on Android devices from June 18. The Delhi-based EV startup has partnered with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd to fully launch its ride-hailing services in the region.
As part of the partnership, Mahindra & Mahindra will provide its all-electric Mahindra eVerito sedans to Blu Smart. Both companies have been testing waters in Delhi for the last five months
1. Blu Smart Cab App
The company said that the app for iOS users will be rolled out soon. This app is now available only for the android user on Google Play Store and the company had already been said that this app will be going to available soon for iOS users.
Gensol Mobility claims that BLU-SMART is India’s first-ever 100 percent electric smart cab fleet launched in NCR, and it will ply in Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram and Aerocity.
2. Blu Smart Cab Booking
As part of the ride-sharing service, Delhiites can book cabs through the ‘Blu Smart Mobility’ app on their smartphones for intra-city commutes (with the option of inter-city travel coming up soon). The company has a fleet of 70 Mahindra Electric eVeritos at the time of launch and plans to scale up to 500 operational EVs by April 2020. What could potentially be a big draw for users is the absence of ‘surge pricing’; the cab aggregator will be implementing a flat rate of Rs 14-15 per kilometer.
3. Blu Smart Funding
Delhi-based electric mobility startup Blu Smart Cab Service has raised $2.2 Mn in seed funding. The investment came in from a group of angel investors with Jain International Trade Organization (JITO) Angel Network leading the round.
The other investors include Hero Motocorp, Mayfield Fund, and Centrum, Micromax and few individual investors among others. The funds will be used to expand its offerings and services beyond Delhi NCR
4. Blu Smart Mobility
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and Blu Smart, a company that provides an all-electric shared smart mobility platform, have announced a partnership wherein they will introduce a connected, all-electric ride-sharing service in the country. Blu Smart Mobility will initially induct 70 Mahindra eVerito sedans in across Delhi NCR, including Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Greater Noida. 5. Blu Smart Mobility Founder
Blu Smart was co-founded by Anmol Singh Jaggi, Dr. Uma Kant, Punit K Goyal, Kiran Patil and Puneet Singh Jaggi in Oct 2018.
The company is in talks with various car companies such as Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra and Nissan for procuring EVs.
